Pinnacle
Jump and City bikes 2008 |
We come to the end of our look at the 2008 Pinnacle
Bikes range, and this time we feature the latest jump and city bikes that
join three
new women’s specific bikes, four
carbon road models, and the Pinnacle
Arrow and Tharpu Peak mountain bikes.
Jump
The ‘Jump’ bike is very much the labour of love of Pinnacle team member Harry, it’s the
bike he wanted and he got to design and build it. The Trojan 2.0 (£599.99)
is made up from steel 4130 frame and up front an Argyle fork with 20mm axle
takes care of the landings.
The Trojan comes with gears or a single speed kit featuring the UNI-D Dropout
system at the rear, (Pictured above) when we were last at Pinnacle in Gatwick
Harry had been working on this part on the CAD system.
– Pinnacle 4130 cro-moly steel custom UK jump frame with UNI-D changeable dropouts
– RockShox Argyle 302 Coil fork with 20mm Maxle front axle system
– FUNN 318 White oversize bar and Rippa White oversize stem
– Includes single speed conversion kit, additional UNI-D dropouts and extra
chain link
– Avid BB5 brakes with Avid FR-5 levers for hassle free, dependable braking
– KK 20mm alloy front hub and Shimano M475 rear hub fitted with Alex Supra BH
rims

Living in London we are seeing a number of Mean Streak’s on the streets and the
latest Mean Streak 1.0 and 2.0, (£299.99 and £499.99 respectively)
should mean more. We like the dark blue colour with the London Skyline lining
the frame, if you are outside London you could add a local feature more relevant
to your location with a marker pen?.
Pinnacle sum the bike up as such; "Having our roots just outside London,
we are familiar with commuting throughout a busy city. When you are doing this
day-in, day-out, you need a dependable, comfortable bike that also gives you
responsive handling and a position that allows you to see the obstacles ahead."
2.0 spec
– Pinnacle a6 alloy frame with tuned geometry for street commuting
– Pinnacle Street alloy straight fork designed to match the Mean Streak geometry
– Shimano Deore 9 speed gears with wide ratio cassette and Truvativ single ring
crank
– Tektro Auriga hydraulic brake system for ample stopping power
– Kore Easy Disc hubs with WTB SX24 Alloy rims, and Continental Contact tyres
– WTB Laser V saddle with scuff resistant cover
