Joyriders doubles up

Luxury Spanish mountain biking holiday company Joyriders has announced the completion of its expansion, with two sites in Estepona and Cerro Macho increasing the company’s capability for offering customised packages.

“The recent opening of our fantastic new site in the stylish Costa Del Sol town of Estepona has allowed us to take a different approach,” says Judith Jewitt, one of Joyriders’ founding directors, “and offer our clients something they can’t get anywhere else.”

With the addition of a second location, Joyriders can now offer twin-centre trips. Holidays can start with a few days at Estepona enjoying sea-view singletrack and lively evenings out, before transferring inland to Cerro Macho near Cordoba for a relaxing change of pace and an amazing variety of trails.

The twin-centre holiday is customized for the preferences of individual clients – and run for between 10 and 14 days. Choosing to start at either site, the itinerary also includes rest days and excursions, from exploring the beautiful towns and cities such as Seville to relaxing on a dolphin safari.

Clients wanting to maximise riding time can choose as many as 8 days riding in a 10 day trip, with incredibly varied trails and terrain across the two sites – everything from technical, dusty, rock infested gullies to flowing tree-lined trails reminiscent of the Alps is on offer – all set against a backdrop of crystal clear blue skies.

In tandem with the new site opening and the new holiday options on offer, Joyriders has also invested heavily in expanding its bike hire fleet, adding the Specialized Pitch to its range of high-end hire bikes. Riders can now choose from either the lightweight Stumpjumper FSR or the Pitch depending on their riding preferences.

“The expansion of trails allows our many returning guests to experience something new, whilst ensuring we have something to cater to every possible level of skill and experience,” says Martin Hills, Manager of Joyriders’ Cerro Macho site. “Whether you are a highly capable technical rider or a complete novice, a mountain goat-like climber or an adrenalin fuelled descent addict we really do have something to offer everyone!”

Both sites offer 4 star levels of comfort quite unlike the basic chalets MTBers are typically accustomed to on such holidays. The Joyriders brand focuses on total quality, accommodation, trails, guiding, coaching, hire bikes – but at fully affordable prices.
