He rides his own French built VProcess bike, he drives a Renault Clio rally
car, but now the multi world champion downhill rider Nico Vouilloz, has
switched from long time French tyre allies Michelin to US Tioga rolling stock.
Nico and his Vouillloz racing team were already using Tioga saddles and other
equipment, but now they’ve plumped for tyres too thanks to big new race track
investment from the black and white tyre fella’s. It’s still a suprise though
after the long and intensive link up between Vouilloz and Michelin, a company
renowned for their on site custom tyre cuts, and close racer product
development strategy.
As Jeff Holt of Tioga said in their official press release, “We have
increased our staff at the races to give our teams the attention they need,
we have new tire technology, hot rodded tire cutting machines, we’re here to
win” finishing with the comment “No more screwing around”. Nico has already
been involved in extensive testing with Tioga, and is obviously impressed
enough to choose them as his 2001 rolling stock.
