It looks like being an autumn of nocturnal fun this year. And Aston Hill is pushing the night-riding envelope with the imminent Indecent Exposure Night Downhill race. Yes, that’s the Aston Hill MTB Area Black Run DH course, at night. 30 October is the date for your diary, and you might want to write “Put lights on charge” on the 29th too.
As seems to be the law for night-time events this year, Indecent Exposure is sponsored by Exposure Lights. There’ll be plenty of the lightweight, integrated battery SLED light systems knocking about for you to look at and play with. Also on site will be demo bikes from Norco and Elan.
To give you a chance to get the hang of downhilling in darkness, Aston Hill’s holding some practice evenings 19, 23, 26 and 28 October, all 6pm-9.30pm.
There’s an entry limit of 250 riders, so if you’re interested head over to www.astonhill.com and download an entry form. Oh, and the Aston Hill crew would like to remind everyone not to ride there outside opening hours and organised events – just because they’re doing a night downhill doesn’t mean you can ride the trails at night normally…
