Event organisers the Events Group are working with Center Parcs, the holiday company, and Bikemagic on the ‘Pedal with the Parcs’ series of bike rides which will take place four consecutive summer Sundays this year.
They are seeking volunteer marshals to assist with these rides, with the primary task being to assist traffic and spectators and to indicate the route to participants.
This unique event will raise money for SPARKS, the pioneering children’s medical research charity and will be backed by sporting celebrities, and the National Byway.
The event, in association with Center Parcs, will consist of a 50-mile challenge ride or a 10-mile family fun ride in countryside around each of the four Center Parcs villages. All rides will be open to members of the public as well as Center Parcs guests providing the perfect way to get active and enjoy the summer with friends and family.
The venues are:
Whinfell Forest in Cumbria on Sunday 23rd July 2006
Longleat Forest in Wiltshire on Sunday 30th July 2006
Elveden Forest in Suffolk on Sunday 6th August 2006
Sherwood Forest in Nottinghamshire on Sunday 13th August 2006
The rides start time is scheduled for 10am and would envisage all volunteers on site at the respective locations for 08 am, where a briefing will be held.
