The Grizedale Off-Road Duathlon is a new event to be held in Grizedale Forest Park, near Hawkshead on 14 March.
The event consists of a 6.5k trail run, followed by a 24k mountain bike and then a further 6.5k trail run. With nearly 5,000ft of ascent packed in this is a challenging event designed to test all levels of ability.
The mountain bike section is a testing circuit incorporating the full North Face Trail with additional sections of singletrack bridleways and fire roads this will be a real classic bike route. The course has been designed to incorporate a balance of terrain that will test riders of all abilities & take in many of the best features of the forest.
There’ll be prizes for individual male and female, veteran male & female, first team (3 to count) & Relay Categories. There will also be various spot prizes.
Facilities include online registration, electronic timing, finishers memento, Grizedale Bikes shop, bike hire, and service centre, visitor centre & cafe, sports nutrition, free event parking, toilets.
