The Gorrick XC season wraps up for the year as the last round goes to Crowthorne Wood, Crowthorne, Berks this Sunday (8 November).
Organisers promise a “great course, where riders enjoy mulling over their year’s riding and start to make plans for their next season. It also culminates in the Berks on Bikes handicap sprint race where Richard Kendall will be endeavouring to make it three in a row and so keep the trophy.”
You can pre-enter online until the evening of Tuesday 3 November, which saves you the extra on the day, and means that you can then go straight to the Entry Express stand (at Event Registration) on the day to collect your number. Remember to bring your receipt with you.
There is still entry on the day.
The event will be aiming to raise funds for Emma Cope, a local girl of 13 who has Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis (FSGS), a disease that attacks the kidney’s filtering system leading to a dependency on dialysis, and for which there is not yet a cure. Any money raised will go in her name to the Nephotic Syndrome Trust (NeST) which is pioneering research into FSGS. Emma will be appearing at the race and the organisers hope many riders will make a donation or get sponsored for the race. Gorrick MBC will also be making a donation.
