The Nissan UCI World Cup is now in full swing, and in less than six weeks it’s the turn of Fort William to host a round of the XC, DH and 4X action on 6-8 June.
Yes, it may seem a long way off, but the organisers are keen to urge those planning to attend to make their bookings quickish – with ticket sales and accommodation in the small town going fast you could soon miss out.
The organisers tell us: “The snow is finally leaving the slopes of the Nevis Range but there is a strong chance of a big patch (the shape of which gives the Snow Goose restaurant its name) above the DH start in June.”
Fort William will also be the only opportunity to see the World’s top Cross Country riders preparing themselves for the Beijing Olympic event in August, with the event being crucial for national qualification and selection processes.
The 4X racing is what sets the crowd alight though, and the course has been undergoing much development to increase the drama. You can see a 3D rendering of the course right here, so you can decide in advance where best to head to watch the action.
