Two-time Formula 1 world champion and Indy 500 winner, Emerson Fittipaldi, has added a bike stack to his previous racing car and plane crashes.

Sounds like the Brazilian car ace pulled off a classic ‘over the bars’ dive to break his left wrist and collarbone near his home in Florida. No tales of reckless mountain biking or confrontations with alligators here though, apparently someone else had left a bike in the road which he rode into. Presumably Emerson takes the same attitude to lights on bikes as he does to lights on racing cars.

Obviously we hope he gets well soon, and we’re sorry to hear about his fall, but if even he can crash his bike it makes us feel a bit better about how often we crash ours.
