Trevor Bennett used to work as Hope’s race mechanic and got sick of people having problems with the brake pad compounds that were available. So he decided to team up with a clutch company and make his own.
His high Kevlar content Kissit KK pads are made by Industrial Clutch Parts and have been the subject of intensive testing in the downhills of the Scottish borders as well as the Pennines. Bennett claims that stopping power is as sharp as the usual EBC red pads, but lifetime is four times longer than standard Green pads. Replacement pads will be available for Hope O2/C2, Hope XC4 and Grimeca/Shimano/SRAM 4 pot pads as soon as the Kissit site goes live in May.
Trevor is also planning pads for other systems as well as a selection of other brake upgrades, and will be taking his own van to races to flog them.
We’ll try and get a set to play with as soon as possible and let you know whether they live up to their claims, but if you want more information Tel: 0773 6318758
