Bearded Man Events have announced the 2012 edition of the Black Mountain Three-Day will take place on June 29-July 1.
The race returns to the Brecon Beacons National Park, with riders set to tackle three stages, starting with a 13km evening time trial lap of the Glanusk Estate on the Friday.
Saturday will then see the riders take on a 70km route across the Black Mountains wilderness. With 2,300m of vertical ascent, riders will need their climbing legs on before enjoying the rewards of some of the country’s best natural singletrack.
Then it’s time to rest and recover as Sunday will require fresh legs to take on the 68km course that includes the legendary Gap route – one of the Beacons’ classic rides – and some 1,800m of climbing.
This is a fully serviced event and entry includes a three-man tent per rider, breakfast, dinner, fully-stocked feed stations, a goodie bag and prizes from sponsors, including TORQ, Singular, Morvelo, Novik Gloves, Saddle Skadaddle, Van Dessel and Loco Tuning. Riders will also have access to masseurs and bike servicing facilities to fixany tired limbs and bikes at the end of each day.
Entry, which includes all riding, accommodation and the food package (including beer) is £180 per rider. You can also bring along a non-riding companion to keep you company and enjoy the experience of stage racing. The cost for a companion is £70 which includes everything except the riding.
Entries are open now, head to www.blackmountains3day.co.uk to register.
