In torrential rain that lasted for the entire race, Wayne Randle
maintained the Team Pro-Vision/Planet X winning streak by scoring his 6th win of
the season.
Randle and took off in the first mile of the race with only Alistair Kay for company,
with Wayne doing the lions share of the work, by the 30 mile mark the 2 riders opened
up a gap of 1 minute on a 9 man chasing group which included Randles other 2 team
mates Mark Lovatt and National Champion John Tanner.
With Randle up the road his 2 teammates were unable to contributetowards the chase,
which helped the duo stretch their lead to over 2 minutes with 25 miles remaining.
Leading out the sprint which finished at the top of a hill Randle crossed the line
several bike lengths ahead of Kay, Lovatt took third leading the chase group in,
with Tanner in 7th, all at 3 minutes.
