Race before the pros at Dalby Forest

The UCI Mountain Bike World Cup takes to Dalby Forest on 23-25 April with the world’s best XC racers making the trip to North Yorkshire, and now the Dalby Dare offers the public the chance to take to the start line before the pros do.

On Saturday 24 April the first ever Dalby Dare takes place on the same challenging World Cup curse but throws in additional trails not used on the WC circuit, offering a taste of the many other trails in the forest.

After being timed on your World Cup lap, you’ll get to take on the switch-backing Addersback climb, a long, fast rocky descent down Dargate Slack and a steepening technical climb before rejoining the World Cup course and taking it all on again.

Dalby Forest is an area of breathtaking natural beauty and thousands of spectators attending the events will benefit from its convenient location, strong transport links and a first class visitor facility. The competition will attract the best mountain bike riders from 24 countries as they compete on a challenging and purpose built technical course.

The bid to host the cross-country round was successful due to the combined commitment of British Cycling, Yorkshire Forward and UK Sport to deliver the event in a way which would benefit mountain biking in the long term and create a legacy for the discipline in Yorkshire and nationwide, helping inspire participation in the sport.
