The annual CLIC24 charity 24 hour mountain bike event on the Mendip Hills in Somerset is now open for entries.
For those new to the world of 24 hour MTB races, or those looking for an event a little different from the other big 24 hour events, the uniquely chilled atmosphere of the CLIC24 is a highlight. Add in an excellent course, free camping, great food and beer, live music throughout the event and you’ve got the recipe for a great weekend.
And it’s all for charity too. Now in its 9th year CLIC24 attracts riders from all over the UK to take part in a combined effort that has raised over £270,000 for children’s cancer and leukaemia charity CLIC Sargent. Growing in popularity each year the event is now a firm favourite in the early season calendar.
Event Organiser, Neil Wilkins says: “This year’s CLIC24 promises to be the best yet. It’s perfect early season training for the pro riders as well as a welcoming introduction to endurance riding for the less experienced. We are looking for a return to the great weather we’ve enjoyed in the past years and have some surprises in store too”.
This year’s event will be sponsored by the brand new Mendip Mountain Bike Centre (incorporating Bad Ass Bikes) which is situated right near the course in Burrington Combe, described by many riders as the gateway to the Mendips.
