Cheddar Caves and Gorge organisers of the annual Crag Attack (Cheddar Gorge Climbing Marathon) today announced that David Moore, the organiser of the original and legendary Cheddar Challenge, will put on a mountain bike challenge event on Sunday 16 May.
Cheddar is the spiritual home of mountain biking with an unmatched pedigree, and it is the organisers hope that this event lives up to those expectations. If successful, it should become a permanent fixture once more.
There will be a choice of distances, from a mild 10km up to 59km. Routes will be partially marked and each rider will receive a route card, which will be available at sign-on. Medical cover at the start/finish area will be available as will a feed stop at the finish. Third party insurance is provided by British Cycling. It is advised that all individuals also provide their own insurance.
Toilet facilities and cafes are immediately available in the Gorge. Accommodation in Hotels, B & B and Holiday Caravan, Camping Parks abound in the village, more at www.cheddarcaves.co.uk. Free parking is available at Broadway Acres, opposite Broadway House Caravan Park.
Why not bring your families for the weekend or even the day, to enjoy all the facilities Cheddar, the famous Caves and the Cheddar Gorge have to offer. There’ll be free transport for non cyclists on the Cheddar Caves and Gorge open top Double Decker bus.
