Rumours suggest that after 100 years of competition cycling Raleigh look set to abandon the race scene after a long struggle to make the brand credible in the eyes of the bike buying public. The easy option, and what we suspect they might do, would be for them to sideline the Raleigh brand in favour of its sexier, in their eyes at least, sister brand Diamond Back.

No-one can argue with Raleigh’s success on the circuit. And while it is undoubtedly a struggle to make a brand as established, and previously neglected, as Raleigh credible we think that abandoning the race scene will be a mistake.
