The organisers of BIKE 2002, Haymarket Exhibitions and Future Publishing, have set up a new road race. The Bike Show Circuit Cup has a full category race listing up to Elite and there’s also a slick tyre MTB category.
You’ll need a British Cycling licence to race (provisional for the slick shod section) but all competitors get a free show ticket and family discount entries which is a nice “keep the kids happy” touch. Organisers are asking riders to enter as soon as possible so they know how many riders to expect. For more details we were told to head for the British Cycling website. However it was still showing last week’s news last time we looked, which doesn’t exactly help speedy entry!
The other thing that troubles us is if the traffic jams around the show are as bad as usual, where are they going to fit in a bike race?
