After the success of the last Beyond Mountain Bikes Women’s MTB ride on 19th March, the next ride date has just been released.
Keep you diary free for Sunday 14th May for another meeting at Peaslake carpark at 10am. The ride will be approximately 2 hours long and is aimed at women riders although men are allowed to come if they are prepared to be girls for the duration! Actually this is so that partners are not broken up on the weekend. Beyond Mountain Bike would like to invite all abilities of riders along, with the possibility to split into smaller speed defined groups if necessary. Distance is not the main objective, especially for the novice riders as time is spent on learning skills and techniques as well as socialising and riding too.
Jackie from Beyond Mountain Bikes says ‘The number of men rarely exceeds 2 or 3 (although a few more arrived on the last ride so the men may be sent off separately if too many arrive this time), but Dunc from Specialized always comes as mechanical backup and general support.’
The meeting place for the ride is the carpark on Walking Bottom, in Peaslake. The OS grid reference is 084445 and it is in the bottom left hand corner of the Guildford and Farnham Ordnance Survey Explorer map, no 145. The easiest approaches are from Gomshall off the A25, or from Ewhurst.
