The Clan Race Team has always been committed to encouraging more younger riders into the sport. As a natural extension to this policy the Clan, in
conjunction with Giant UK, have taken a major step forward by introducing and supporting a new mini race series for juvenile riders.

In the UK the existing youth category is well supported by 14, 15 and 16 year old riders but this new series is aimed at a younger age group. The Clan
firmly believes that for downhilling to continue the growth of recent years, more effort has to be put in to bringing this age group into the sport.

The races in this series will take place at selected SCU Series events during the course of 2001. These youngsters will race on a shortened, modified
course with fewer of the big jumps and drops etc. Although locations have not yet been finalised it is hoped that both Innerleithen and Ae will host
races.

Giant UK are fully supporting this new initiative and as well as individual race prizes, will be donating a brand new Giant Downhill frame to the series
winner.
