The 2009 Caersws Cup is pitched at new and up-and-coming riders to compete on four challenging courses in Caersws, Mid Wales. Organisers say it’s an “ideal place to start your racing career.”
Sponsored by Astrix, there will be four races on 7/8 March, 9/10 May, 11/12 July and 22/23 August.
“Caersws is perfect for a single venue series, the best uplift in the country equals more time blasting down the four exciting courses,” says race organiser Chris Roberts.
There’s a hearty prize pot thanks to sponsors RidinghighUK, with the latest Astrix Havoc R downhill frame up for grabs in a random draw, and Mojo Suspension will have a set of Fox 40 forks for the rider who manages to finish in 40th place overall based on total times after four rounds. And lastly, Pete Yates Cycles have put up £100 for the fastest rider of the day.
Chris Papworth from RidinghighUK says: “Astrix Europe are proud to be backing the Caersws Cup again for the second year, we had great feed back from last year and really wanted to do more for all the riders so we are giving away four of latest design Havoc R downhill frames.”
British Cycling ranking points are on offer for those riders aiming for the national series, and series points will be decided from the best three of four results.
