Once again Aston Hill in Buckinghamshire is hosting a six-race DH series. The rounds are split over three weekends, but each day is a separate round so you can pick and mix which ones you want to do. Local bike shop Buckingham Bikes has stepped in as title sponsor, with additional prize sponsors including Ancilotti Bikes, TF Tuned Shox, Chameleon Software and Commencal. The latter are sponsoring the hardtail category – there’s a Commencal Absolute bike up for grabs for the series winner.
There’s a whole range of courses at Aston Hill, and the DH series will use a different one each time, in some cases combining two courses to make a different one. The only exception is the penultimate round, which will be run on whichever course is voted for by the competitors at the first two rounds. The dates and courses are:
Race Weekend 1
- Race 1 Saturday 19 March – DH3
- Race 2 Sunday 20 March – The Red Run (DH Race Version)
Race Weekend 2
- Race 3 Saturday 9 July – 4X into DH3
- Race 4 Sunday 10th July – The Black Run
Race Weekend 3
- Race 5 Saturday 17 September – The riders choice!
- Race 6 Sunday 18 September – DH3
It’s also worth noting that the Aston Hill series is the only DH series in the south to carry National Ranking points, so if those are important to you, you know where to race…
