Lance Armstrong teamed up with his U.S. Postal mate Viatcheslav Ekimov to dominate the two-man Eddy Merckx Grand Prix time trial in Belgium. Just to hammer home the point, they passed the Credit-Agricole two-some of world hour record holder Chris Boardman and Jens Voigt leaving them to finish 2nd, 2’9″ down. Dutch pairing Erik Dekker and Marc Wauters finished third for Rabobank at 2’22”.
Showing his post Tour form by taking big turns at the front of the winning break in the Zurich Grand Prix last week and winning here in Belgium, Armstrong is clearly posting his intentions to take Olympic gold in the time trial in a few weeks time.
