The relatively new Altura Trail will be used for the inaugural Whinlatter Challenge on 29 March and riders will take on a 30 mile course on the red graded trail.
“We’re delighted to have Altura sponsoring this exciting new event,” says organiser Richard Staton. “Their investment and support will ensure its success not just this year but in years to come.”
The course will be be fully waymarked and marshalled with a feed zone at the half way point. The event will start at 10:30am and the course will close at 4pm. Entry costs £20 and can be done online at www.whinlatterchallenge.co.uk or the old fashioned way too.
“Since the first section opened in June 2008 the feedback on the Altura Trail has been fantastic, attracting riders from all over the UK to ride this extremely natural man-made trail. With the full 19km now open this event kicks off what is sure to be a great year for mountain biking at the Altura Trail at Whinlatter Forest,” said Altura Manager Ian Young.
