Bikepark Leogang, Austria will host the 26Trix and iXS Downhill Cup from September 19/21, and the riders have just been confirmed for the 26TRIX dirt jump contest, where 50 riders from 15 countries will do battle for a huge bag of dough.
Back in the beginning of June, the 26TRIX contest had to be postponed because of bad weather conditions. But the course, which had been improved in comparison to last year’s track, is still waiting to be shredded. The riders from all over the world can’t wait to jump the big sized doubles.
Some of the riders to look out for include Brits Sam Pilgrim and Sam Reynolds, plus stars such as Andreu Lacondeguy, Benny Korthaus, Timo Pritzel and Trond Hansen.
The big comeback of the 26TRIX in September will be split up into qualifying and a finals day, with quali on Friday 19 September and the finals the following day.
The racers competing in the last tour stop of the iXS European Downhill Cup 2008 will face a 2.3kmcourse with a vertical drop of 480 meters. Bikepark Leogang’s downhill track “Speedster” is technically very challenging. Beside the pro riders taking part, amateurs are welcome to register at www.ixsdownhillcup.com.
