BIKE2000 we have the FIRST pictures

Well,
the other sites are promising you the stuff from BIKE2000 tomorrow,
so we thought we’d get it out of the way tonight. Cos we’ll probably
be too knackered tomorrow night from fending little thieving gets
from nicking our stuff. We’re perched on the corner of the isle nearest
the dirt jumping, so if you’re coming to the show drop along and see
us and pick up either some BIKEmagic or
if you’re lucky, some FISHINGmagic sticker-sets for your bike. Here’s
the cool stuff we’ve seen so far.

Mean
and moody
, this is Nick Warling from Raleigh Tech support
who was bringing this brand new trails frame for their hotshot trials
rider Ian Cooper. Nick is doing the build up on the frame tonight,
and it should be ready to rock by tomorrow morning. Let’s see eh?

This
is the detail of the chainstay and bottom bracket area on Ian’s Raleigh, and you can see the
work that’s gone into the chainstay/bb joint area and the gussett
on the downtube.
Nice work. But let’s hope that it holds together over the huge wooden trials obstacles that they’re still finishing off.

Not
all the exhibitors have got their stuff out yet, but this bike from
XLite was hidden under a big bike bag. We pulled it off and snapped
the details before Rex from Xlite saw us, and saw us off with a right
gobfull of abuse. Ah well, at least we got the pictures first.

And
finally, the dirt jumping is *far* from finished. When the riders
got to try out the jumps that the JCBs had crafted only two riders
got through the whole section. Even Stevey Peat couldn’t manage it
and trashed his leg on the first landing. The organisers wouldn’t
let the mechanical diggers back in so now every man, his dog and his
shovel was reshaping the dirt that the diggers had left to make something
resembling a decent set of jumps. It looks like it’s going to be good
but we didn’t see Team MBUK getting their hands dirty…

That’s it for now.
We’re heading off for a curry in Solihull and beers on someone else’s expense
account. Tune in tomorrow and we *might* have
some more stuff for you…
