Polartec have unveiled the Power Dry with Cocona base layers – made from recycled coconut husks.

Twenty billion coconuts are grown annually worldwide and, rather than send them all to landfill, Cocona technology uses the husks to make activated carbon, a property full of holes to improve the wicking effect.

The base layers also boast anti-bacterial properties and offer UV protection.

Three products make up the range; the Marmot men’s base layer (colours: lithium/lead; £40), the Marmot women’s base layer (colours: black, violet, pink; £40) and the Peak Performance WMs SitKat SS (colours: pink, green; £30).
