Orange will now offer selected models with the Cane Creek Double Barrel shock.
The 224-Evolution, Alpine 160 and Blood bikes can now be specced with the Cane Creek shock, which uses Öhlins’ Twin Tube technology. The design allows full control of rebound and compression due to oil circulating through the valving instead of the main piston.
Four-way adjustment allows individual tuning of the high- and low-speed compression and high- and low-speed rebound by hand, no tools needed. External adjustment removes the need for after market custom tunes and allows easy setup according to track or weather conditions.
Orange will offer three spring rates per model based on rider weight. Prices for the shock upgrade (with steel spring) are as follows:
- 224-Evolution (to replace Fox DHX RC4) – £250
- Alpine 160 (to replace Fox RP23) – £400
- Blood (to replace Fox RP23) – £400
Öhlins’ is a Swedish company with a history of producing suspension systems for Moto GP, Formula One and NASCAR.
