What do you do when you’ve got a CNC machine and a lathe in your home? You make replacement brake levers of course. That’s what Tyler Jarosz, founder of Twenty6 in Montana, US, has done anyway.
The Dualie levers, fitting Formula, Hayes, Avid and Shimano brake systems, are a direct replacement for the stock levers. But as well as being available in an array of colours – black, blue, green, orange, pink, purple, red and yellow – so you can pimp your bike, they also offer some ergonomic and performance advantages over stock levers.
The feel of the brake has been fine-tuned, increasing modulation, by moving the position of the pivot. Ergonomics are improved with defined shaping for two-finger braking, and the lever also sits closer to the bar. Weight for a pair of levers is 46g. No price yet.
Twenty6 has also released some flat pedals, the 6forpedal. No information as of yet, but watch this space…
