Same performance at a lower price
Avid has released the Elixir 3, a new disc brake intended to offer similar levels of performance and adjustability to that which we’ve become used to from Avid but at a more affordable price.
Based around a TaperBore master cylinder, Avid’s patented hydraulic closure system that allows for lighter lever travel through the stroke of the lever while moving more fluid than a traditional timing port, which the company reckons offers increased modulation.
There’s a new two-piece caliper with top-loading pads, reach adjust with improved access to the 3mm Allen bolt, ambidextrous lever body and Avid’s optomised pivot placement. Weight is 405g per end and rotors are available in 160, 185 and 203mm sizes.
Price is $105.00, UK price TBC.
