The guys at MuleBar have been busy. Not only have they recently brought in the fantastic compostable wrappers for their bars, but they’ve just added the brand new Café Cortada flavour to their range of gels. And that’s on top of improving the flavours for the rest of the range too.
The new gel is inspired by the Mule Bar guys’ favourite Spanish coffee, a popular destination for the crew owing to its great trails and climate. It’s caffeinated, naturally, with a staggering 100mg of caffeine per serving, derived from natural coffee and guarana. Like the other gels there’s a 30g dollop of carbohydrate to keep you fuelled and help you avoid bonking.
Meanwhile, the other gels, Lemon Zinger, Cherry Bomb and Apple Strudel, have each been improved. Fine-tuning of the ingredients has resulted in a softer, smoother and tastier gel, so claims the company. The salt and electrolyte content has been tweaked too, with the levels of Himalyan crystal salt been increased.
We’ve been sent a sample of the new gels and we’ll let you know what we think in a couple of days, once we’ve logged enough miles on the bike to need to resort to gels to keep us going.
