Hot on the heels of the release of two smaller hydration packs recently, Osprey have followed up with the brand new Escapist.
Available in 20l, 25l and 30l capacities, it’s a pack clearly designed for rides that demand you carry a lot of kit, such as day-long rides, overnight adventures and multi-day tours. For such riding the pack needs to be durable yet light, so Osprey use a combination of 210D Mini-Hex Nylon and 420HD Nylon material to protect the contents. Weight for the 20l model is 820g.
An Airscape Ventilated back panel uses moulded air channels to prevent the horrible sensation of a sweaty back, while keeping the pack stable and prevent it shifting horribly about. A harness strap also helps in this regard and the small zippered pocket provides a handy place to keep your phone or GPS device, and the hib-belt also has a couple of pockets for carrying other small items.
Other features in common with Osprey packs across the range also include the LidLock for quick and easy bike helmet storage, a high visibility rain-cover that is quick to deploy when the heavens open and reflective detailing.
The Ecapist 20 costs £65, the 25 £70 and the 30 is priced £75. More info at www.ospreypacks.com
