John Wilkinson, keen cyclist, enthusiastic Trailquest organiser and competitor and recently-appointed Executive Officer of advocacy group IMBA-UK, has died. He suffered a fatal accident while riding the trails at Chopwell Forest on the evening of 17 July. The details of the accident are as yet unclear, but it’s possible that he suffered a heart attack that contributed to the accident.

IMBA’s Colin Palmer said, “John’s death will be a huge loss to IMBA and the rest of the cycling world and will be sadly missed. Our sympathies go out to John’s family and friends.”
