A short while ago (OK, three months then), we ran a photo competition with the prize the stunning new Olympus [mju:] Stylus 790 SW camera. Rugged it is and great photos it will surely take, but to get your hands on one we’re asking to see your best Sterling Lorence efforts.
Simply put, we want a photo(s) based around the timely theme of ‘Spring’ uploaded into the forum thread below. We’ll give you a generous two weeks (what with Bank Holiday looming as ideal time to get snapping and everything) before which we’ll whittle the selection down to the ten best. Then we’ll pick a winner.
What’s this Olympus camera about then?
The great thing about this new Olympus camera is that it’s properly rugged for outdoor use. That means it’s actually waterproof enough to pass IEC 529 IXP8 standards (which means it will survive being up to 3m underwater) and shockproof to MIL-STD-810F (which means a US soldier could drop it from a height of 1.5m onto the roof of a Humvee and still salute it). The battery/xD card slot and the USB port are all hidden behind weathersealed doors too. You can read more about in the review here.
And just so you know what you’re up against, this is the winning photo from last time. You can also see the top ten picked from that previous competition too, for inspiration.
James Dymond won the last comp with this photo
