12:12 Torq in your Sleep is the latest 12-hour event to hit the MTB enduro calendar and debuts on Saturday 6 September – and entry forms are now available.
The 12-hour race is being staged at Minley Manor near Yateley and a 7 mile course has been designed – by Jon Lucas and Paul Howard – with typical Gorrick style, so expect lots of singletrack through pine forests interspersed by short fire roads and little in the way of grassy fields.
Categories include solo, pairs and teams of 3 or 4. If you haven’t quite cobbled together enough team mates yet, the organisers say you can enter now and confirm your team on the day.
Headline sponsors Torq Fitness will be giving away free bottles, energy bars or gels to every rider. In addition they’ll be supplying your energy needs at the on-course Torq “power station” with free energy drink. Our stalwart sponsor Mountain Trax, supplier of the race numbers, will have a collection of demo bikes to test; a full list will be published soon.
Additional event support will be provided by Lumicycle Lights, Saddle Skedaddle – the new 2009 Spring Series XC sponsor, Action Cameras, Dodgy Gear Clothing, Bike Goo cleaning materials, 1st Gear Cycles, and Chelmer Cycles with the Cannondale demo truck.
The venue opens from 4pm on Friday when the course will be available for pre-riding. Onsite facilities include free camping, showers, toilets, drinking water, hot and cold food throughout the weekend, a solo pit/camping area, and race photographer.
