The Selkirk round of the Merida Bikes MTB Marathon has established itself very quickly as the most loved and talked about course of the series and the 2008 round on 3 August will try once again to fill those shoes.
Pete Laing is our man in Selkirk who has been helping us on the Selkirk round since the start as well as on last year’s TransScotland. He has tweaked the course just a bit to make it more beginner friendly (by adding some chicken runs) without taking the challenging aspects away from it. The mini marathon has been re-done completely offering a beginner orientated yet super enjoyable route.
The Selkirk route has its own character and offers an interesting alternative from the riding at the first three events of the 2008 series. The courses are waiting with lots of technical sections, parts of purpose build trail and spectacular views over the border region.
If you haven’t been to Selkirk yet, it doesn’t matter where in the UK you live and ride make sure you don’t miss out on this event. Going by the countless comments we have had since we incorporated Selkirk into the series this is not an event to be missed.
We have put the profiles of the four different courses up on the website. To find out more about the upcoming round in Selkirk please go to the event page on the website.
