Sidi will be unveiling its latest shoes at the Eurobike trade show next week, but it clearly couldn’t wait until then and has released details of its new flagship model today.
Leading the Sidi 2009 range is the new Sidi Dragon 2 Carbon SRS. Top of the list of features is the SRS carbon sole, a full carbon insert from toe to heel ensuring minimal flex when stamping on the pedals. Interestingly, the tread is bolted to the sole so, should it wear prematurely, a new tread can be fitted. There’s also an anti-slip insert along the middle, and an optional toe guard can be fitted.
Elsewhere Sidi has used a Vernice microfibre material for the outer that it claims reduces dirt and muck sticking to the shoe. And there’s no chance of the shoes not staying in place, Sidi has used three retention devices. There’s the Tecno-II monofilament closure system, a ratchet plus a Velcro strap.
