Last weekend didn’t only see the titles of 2013 Downhill World Cup Champion decided in Leogang, Austria, but also those of the 2013 Four Cross World Champions.
Although the Four Cross World Cup was abandoned by the sport’s governing body, the UCI, at the end of 2011, the one-off World Championship was left intact. Each year the title of World Champion is up for grabs and this year’s race was held in conjunction with the Downhill World Cup finals in Austria. All the usual chaos and carnage ensued and this great round-up vid from DirtTV’s Rob and John Parkin shows just that… carnage.
The men’s title was taken by Dutch Joost Wichman and the women’s by Australian Caroline Buchanan. Congratulations to the champions and a round of applause to the UK’s Katy Curd who finished an amazing second in the women’s.
