The Dorset Rough Riders will host the Wareham Forest Spring XC Enduro event on 10 May, a 2-hour event to be held on an 8.5km course.
Organisers say they have “…created a course that is challenging without being too intimidating with a mixture of flowing singletrack and fast paced trails.”
Various categories are available, and the day’s action kicks off at 8.30am with the kids race. That’s followed by the youth race at 9am, the ‘Have a Go’ race at 10am and then, at 11am, the main 2-hour enduro.
There’ll be prizes on offer for the top three positions in each category.
The course has been approved by the Forestry Commission after great care has been taken with the choice of trails. There are many parts of Wareham Forest classified as SSSI (Site of Special Scientific Interest), and the organisers are keen to urge riders to keep to the marked course whilst either sighting or racing to ensure the sensitive and in some parts unique environment is not damaged.
