Clic24 takes place on 16/17 May 2009, and the organisers are promising more of the uniquely chilled atmosphere that all those who have ridden the event will be familiar with.

Biggest of the changes is the move to locate all facilities to the main event field, with a range of hot and cold food available throughout the weekend. While that’ll save the short walk over to the previous centre for energy store replenishing, the organisers have come up with a stroke of genius: tent service. That’s right; they’ll deliver hot food right to the porch of your tent/camper van.

Entertainment, other than the 24-hours of riding to contest with, increases with more live music. There’ll be a live acoustic set in the main marquee from Alfie Kingston and James Buckingham on Friday evening and more again on Saturday night with the sounds of CLIC24 regular and headline act Mark Venus, joined this year by feature drummer Tony Howard.

A further distraction comes in the shape of the sports massage team and hot showers. And there’ll be bike servicing in the Bike City marquee where you can get hold of spares and accessories or leave your bike for a service. And Lumicycle will be offering a light charging service once again.

Keen to push the family angle, organiser Neil Wilkins says: “I’ve also had some enquiries about how suitable CLIC24 is for families with children and those looking for some great camping and a relaxing weekend without too much riding. Well CLIC24 is just that sort of event. It can be whatever you want it to be, so bring family and friends and make a weekend of it.

“The campsite opens at 5pm on the Friday evening and closes at 2pm on the Sunday and the camping and facilities won’t cost your support team (family, friends, whoever) anything at all.”
