Giant has taken the rather novel step of releasing a new range of UK specific hardtails, and called the lot ‘Talon’. For many years, Giants were the same the world over. Gradually, the ranges have been getting more territory-specific, with colours and specs varying from country to country. The Giant Talon announcement moves that on another step.
The Giant Talon range is unashamedly pitched at trail centre riders, and while we don’t have prices yet we’re clearly not talking mega money here – the range-topping Talon 0 has a (perhaps surprisingly short) 100mm Tora fork, a mix’n’match Shimano transmission and Giant’s own Root disc brakes. The press release claims the bikes will offer “fast, confidence-inspiring handling and a relaxed riding position”.
The Talon range extends to seven bikes, five aimed at men and two for women. Each bike sports a frame made from “Fluid Formed” AluxX aluminium with Giant’s usual attention to detail, and spec will include WTB saddles, Kenda Nevegal tyres, riser bars and short stems.
