Whyte has added the entry-level X8 Performance HT to its 2011 range.
Offering a 6061 hydro-formed and multi-butted frame and designed around a 100mm fork with a slack 68.5 degree head angle, the X8 range offers a comfortable and relaxed trail experience and is aimed at both beginners and the experienced rider.
The £899 805 offers a 27lb all-in weight, a Recon Silver coil fork, a 9-speed SLX/Alivio mix drive train and Hayes Stroker comp hydro brakes.
And the £1199 809 all-rounder weighs in at 26lb, with a Recon Gold Solo Air fork, X.7 10-speed drive train and Avid Elixir 3 hydro brakes.
Both bikes come complete with UK-specific design features, including extra mud clearance for all weather usability, forward facing seat slot to keep rear wheel spray out of the frame, continuous outers for improved cable life and crud-catcher mounts on the downtube.
