Cadel Evans crashed in the final stage of the Tour Down Under happily taking out another road cyclist with him.
Cadel was in the lead group of 6 riders at the time and postioned well for a good finish.
Cadel clipped his pedal on the ground going into the corner, and slid out. He is now nursing a broken collar bone.
Frenchman Gilles Maignan (AG2R) ended up the winner of The Tour Down with last year’s winner Stuart O’Grady
12 seconds back.
Maignan took the lead on the fourth stage and was followed
by a further four Frenchman in the top 10. Matt Stephens of the British “Linda McCartney” team got his proffesional career off to a good start with eighth place overall.
