In France, the USPS’ Frankie Andreu remained in third place overall, 12 seconds back of race leader Laurent Brochard of Jean Delatour, following today’s 194 km fifth stage of Paris-Nice in Sisteron. Andreu, ninth overall after the opening stage and 10th overall following stage two, gained seven places in the GC after finishing with the lead group in stage three and held his position following two stages of aggressive racing. Following tomorrow’s sixth stage, Paris-Nice’s decisive stage will take place on Saturday with a 10 km mountain time trial near Nice. STAGE TWO, REDLANDS CLASSIC 1.
