Potties are banned!

Important news from the BDRA is that from January
2001 all riders will be required to wear full-face helmets if they wish to take part
in any BSX, Downhill or Dual BDRA sanctioned events next year.

This decision has been taken in the light of several stupid and avoidable accidents,
which were clearly made allot worse by the fact that the riders were wearing "potty"
type helmet’s.

Also the helmets MUST BE DONE UP! a growing number of riders are now riding with
helmets unfastened due to the fact they take them off at the bottom of a run. this
is all well and good until you crash and the one thing that could save you from big
time brain damage goes flying off.

For years now racing organisations have been hedging around this one but it is felt
that with full-face lids now being around the same price as open face helmets the
argument is now over.

Body Armour will also be required with a minimum of Arm and Knee pads to be worn
by all competitors.

KIS Promosport, the UK’s number one BSX race organisation will be introducing these
new rules at the rest of the National Bicyclesupercross Championships rounds,
but it will not be compulsory till 2001.
