Tour de France riders might have had the chance for a well-earned rest yesterday, but they are back into the cauldron today, facing a climb up the intimidating Le Mont Ventaux.
AKA the “Giant of Provence”, this is an hors categorie climb (meaning ‘badder than bad’), offering riders the prospect of over 20km at 7.6% gradient, finishing up at an altitude of close to 2000m.
