This is the first ever Olympic staging of the triathlon.

Simon Lessing and Andrew Johns both have realistic hopes of a medal.

Britain’s best medal hopes lie with the sprint cycling team of Jason Queally, Chris
Hoy and Craig Maclean, who are world silver medallists and European champions. Their
final is at 1015.
