Those eager to abandon their studying / daytime TV for the hope of race glory can use their exciting Student Union wallplanners to scratch up the date for the British Universities Sports Association (BUSA) Mountainbike Championships.
It’s organized by Durham, Newcastle and Northumbria universities and will take place at Hamsterley Forest, CO. Durham on the 17th and 18th of March. There will be a purpose built DH course thanks to the Teesside Development Squad, camping on site and a “trade village”. There’ll also be an on site bar courrtesy of the ‘It’s a Scream’ Student theme pub chain, plus entertainment on Friday and Saturday night (presumably besides endless Ali G impressions and trying to get off with that blonde who looked better with the full face helmet on.
Tickets are expected to be between £10 -£15 (half last years price) and with over 700 entries for XC and DH races last year, this is the biggest student sports event in Britain, and Hamsterley’s a damn good course, so the whole lot should be well worth getting your act together for.
