The first round of the UK’s National Series for the new sport of Bicycle Supercross kicks off on May the 19-20th at a new venue at Baskerville Hall, near Hay-on-Wye.
Now Holmes (or was it Watson, can’t remember) has emptied his trusty Webley into the local hell houndthe series will run its full 5 rounds with all the published dates staying as listed with the addition of an extra date for the last round.
Dates are:
Rd 1 May 19-20th – Baskerville Hall Hotel, near Hay-on-Wye
Rd 2 June 17-18th – Hornton Hill, near Banbury
Rd 3 July 7-8th – TBC
Rd 4 Aug 3-4-5th to include 2001 Ultimate Dual and IDENTITI King of Dirt –

Rd 5 September 1-2nd – TBC
The series is sanctioned by the UK BSX governing body the BDRA and carries National Ranking points. Entries are available on the day but the timetable for the weekend is; open from Friday 18th from midday. Saturday Practice from 10 am. Fun race mid afternoon. Special Saturday night Dual £5 entry one class.
Sunday main race day. Practice from 8 am till 11.am. first race 11.30 am. Youth / Masters in morning. Junior, Senior and Pro in the afternoon.
All courses are designed for all abilities (don’t be put off by the big jumps, there are optional routes for the non-jumpers) or if you just want to come and watch the most crazy riding you’ve ever seen on a bicycle then you can and its free. Plenty of parking and wonderful views of the black mountains.

Even further over in the bottom left hand corner of the country it’s blistered cows causing trouble with the Muddy Fox DH series.
Due to an outbreak of foot and mouth at Wiveliscombe, only 7 miles from Raleighs Cross, rounds 2 & 3 have been moved to Ashcombe.

Sunday 27th May is Rnd 3 Muddyfox SW Downhill Series on the berms course
Monday 28th May Rnd 3 Muddyfox SW Downhill Series on the paintball course
August 25th/26th, NACC events will be hosting the third round of the National Points Series Downhill at Combe Sydenham on the Remec course. This new course will be debuted at our August 5th meeting.
And for those really planning ahead December 22nd is the annual NACC Marshal’s “Black Tie Ball” is this year open to all. This legendary, previously invitation only event is now open to everyone (providing you are over 18!). Tables cost £145 and seat 8. Individual tickets cost £20.
