Fancy a spin on one of Rocky Mountain’s 2003 bikes? If you can get yourself up to Yorkshire, now’s your chance. Or, more correctly, 16/17 November is your chance. The location is the most splendid New Inn, Appletreewick, nr Skipton, North Yorks (grid ref SE053602).
Helping out on the weekend will be JD’s Bicycle Workshop and their Marie Curie race team. The riders will be leading out rides and the mechanics’ll be keeping them running. The bikes, not the riders. Keeping the riders running is the New Inn’s department… Rides kick off at 10am both days.
If you’ve got your eye on one of the larger and bouncier Rockys, you may wish to avail yourself of the shuttle service to the top of a nearby hill.
Pretty much the full range will be available, including three flavours of the Energy Transfer System bikes – ETS-X 30, 50 and 70. Freeride fiends can have a go on an RM7 or new 6in travel Switch, or at the opposite end of the spectrum there’s superlight XCers like the Vertex and Element Team Scandium. Plus the XC suspension bikes and all the other hardtails, including the chromoly Blizzard for the retro steel fans.
You’re advised to contact Ruth at JD’s Bicycle Workshop on 01943 816101 (or email [email protected]) for more details and to book a bike if you’re after something in particular.
And if you go up and get a decent ride on one of the new bikes, why not share your thoughts through the BM Reviews system?
