UK eventsmeisters Trail Break are holding a double event next weekend (10/11 May) on Exmoor, a rarely-mentioned but very splendid area.
Saturday sees an Evans Ride, as sponsored by the bike retail behemoth, available in a choice of 15, 25 or 35 mile flavours. It’s all marked out, so navigation won’t be an issue, and the clock will be running so you can have a go at any personal bests you might be trying to shift.
Sunday is the last in Trail Break’s Fat Tyre Navigator events. The orienteering-style competitions are usually three and a half hours long, but to make the most of the area the Exmoor one will be an hour longer (the short-course option is three and a half hours).
You don’t have to do both events, but if you’re travelling down there to do one it makes perfect sense to do the other, particularly if you haven’t ridden Exmoor before – it’s great, trust us.
The weekend’s event centre is at Carhampton, just outside Minehead on the A39 with plenty of local accommodation options. Need to know more? Visit www.trailbreak.co.uk for all the details.
